No trip to Chiang Rai is complete without visiting Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple. Designed by renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, this extraordinary temple is one of Thailand’s most recognizable landmarks.
Its brilliant white exterior, mirrored mosaics, and intricate sculptures symbolize purity and enlightenment. Although the temple suffered damage during the 2014 earthquake, restoration continues today while remaining fully open to visitors.
