Transportation

  • Can you pick me up at the airport, bus or train station? We are unable to pick you up from the bus, train, or airport due to the possibility of delays and cannot wait for you because this will have an effect on the entire group. We suggest that you spend the night in Chiang Mai before your trip.
  • Is transport free? Within a 5 km radius of the old city, transportation is free; if your lodging is outside of this area, you will be charged an additional fee.
  • How long does it take to get to the sanctuary? From Chiang Mai, the journey typically takes about one and a half hours, but this can be affected by local traffic conditions.

Food & Drink

  • What kind of meal will I get?
We don’t serve anything overly spicy in our traditional Thai cuisine, which is made with seasonal, fresh ingredients to please everyone’s taste buds.
  • Can you cater for vegans? Yes, we are happy to prepare vegan food, and most special requests can be accommodated with 24 hours’ notice.
  • What drinks do you provide? We provide you with free water to drink at the sanctuary, but you should bring some with you on your journey, especially during the hot season.

General

  • Can I ride the elephants? No, riding is not allowed at all.
  • Do I need to take part in every activity? You are free to enjoy your day without feeling compelled to participate in any of our activities because they are optional.
  • Do I need to be physically fit? The sanctuary is open to people of all fitness levels, but you should be aware that most of the activities will require you to move around on your feet.
  • Is there WiFi? We don’t have WiFi at our sanctuary, which is in a rural farmland, but we do have great views.
  • Do I need insurance? Our accident insurance covers all registered visitors up to 500,000 THB. Please be aware that this does not cover personal items like phones and cameras; however, your personal travel insurance may cover these items.

  • Can I bring my camera? You are welcome to take your own pictures and videos; however, you are not allowed to use flash.
  • Can I bring my drone? Because they could frighten our elephants, we do not permit the use of drones in the sanctuary.

  • Where can I find my pictures? Within three to five days of your visit, we will typically upload your photos to our website’s Gallery page.
  • Can you send me higher resolution images? Unfortunately, we are unable to provide people with images of a higher resolution in the majority of cases.
  • There are no pictures from my visit, can I have a refund? We sincerely apologise if something goes wrong, as we do not charge for images. Unfortunately, things do go wrong from time to time.
